Automated trading is high-risk and is not suitable for everyone. This disclosure summarises key risks of using Algomatic's bots. It is not exhaustive.
1. You can lose money
All trading involves substantial risk. Losses can exceed your expectations and, with leverage, can happen quickly. You are solely responsible for any losses in your own trading account.
2. Return figures are targets, not guarantees
Any performance figures shown on our site — including monthly percentage figures such as those described for individual bots — are objectives or targets only. They are not forecasts, promises, or guarantees, and they are not based on assured or audited live results. High target returns imply high risk. Figures such as a "~50% monthly" objective are highly speculative and inconsistent with conventional expectations for moderate-risk products. Actual results will differ and may be negative. Past and hypothetical performance is not indicative of future results.
3. Risk labels are relative, not regulated ratings
Terms like "low", "moderate", and "aggressive" are relative classifications within our own catalogue. They are not regulated risk ratings and are not a guarantee of maximum loss.
4. Drawdown parameters can be exceeded
Configured drawdown figures (for example a "20%" parameter) are settings, not hard limits on real losses. During gaps, slippage, low liquidity, execution failures, broker issues, or extreme volatility, realised losses can exceed any stated drawdown.
5. Risks specific to automated / algorithmic trading
- Technical failure: software bugs, disconnections, latency, power/internet outages, or broker/platform downtime can cause missed or erroneous trades.
- Market conditions: strategies optimised on past data can fail when market behaviour changes; grid and averaging strategies can accumulate large exposure during adverse trends.
- Slippage & gaps: orders may fill at worse prices than expected, and stops may not trigger at the intended level.
- Leverage: where leverage is used, both gains and losses are magnified.
- No supervision guarantee: a bot follows rules without human judgement; it will not "know" to stop in unusual conditions.
6. No advice; assess your own suitability
Algomatic is not a broker, fund, or financial adviser and gives no personalised advice. You should assess whether a bot is appropriate for your objectives and circumstances and, if in doubt, seek advice from an independent, licensed professional before trading.
7. Third-party & broker risk
Your capital sits with a third-party broker. Broker insolvency, restrictions, or errors are outside our control and can affect your funds and trades.
8. Cryptocurrency payment risk
Access fees are paid in cryptocurrency. Crypto transactions are irreversible, and crypto values can be volatile. Ensure you send the correct amount on the correct network.
9. Regulatory & jurisdictional risk
Automated and leveraged trading is regulated or restricted in some jurisdictions. It is your responsibility to ensure your use is lawful where you live.
